Entre Tanto: Dancing Through the Cycles of Clarity and Connection on Madeira Island | Georgina Abreu and Beatriz Baptista

Entre Tanto means “in between a lot/so much” in Portuguese.

The film was born from a collaboration between two female artists from Madeira, Georgina Abreu and Beatriz Baptista. Together, they unite their creative energies and connect with the spirit of their home island through their respective art forms.

Inspired by the natural spaces that surround us—and which, at the same time, unite us—Entre Tanto explores the in-between moments, the changing seasons, and cycles of transformation that bring both frustration and clarity. As these cycles unfold, our connection to the island deepens, as does our connection to ourselves.

Beatriz Baptista, a dancer and performance artist, is the protagonist of this short film, alongside Mother Nature, who welcomes and embraces her and serves as the starting point for the movement.

Through the fusion of movement and imagery, the film aims to evoke a sense of wonder and reverence for the natural world, inspiring viewers to rekindle their own connection with nature, rediscover the joy of moving in harmony with it, and recognise the beauty and importance of preserving the delicate balance of life on our planet.
